...was a hug

Hmmm. I promised myself that I wouldn't put posts like this up but today has been a bl**dy nightmare. I'm on holiday from Friday (which should be something to smile about) but I'm eyeball deep in trying to write up projects to hand them over to people in my absence.

I was getting very stressed and annoyed when my girlfriend came in and gave me a huge hug and that really made me smile. Nothing much else has today though - grrrrrrrrrr.

...was great customer service.

It's a bit of a dull one today but it made me smile. I'm off on holiday on Saturday and realised to my horror that I'd run out of film for my camera (I love my photography, check out my other blog).
It's hard to get 120 roll film at a good price and I tend to use a company called 7 Day Shop who offer a great price. I ordered on Friday after their delivery cut off point so given the current Post Office strikes I had mentally resigned to the fact that I wasn't going to get my film in time. However, on my desk at work this morning - a mountain of film!!

...was knowing about the weather.

There is nothing we British love more than talking about the weather. I've just discovered the best weather app for my iPhone. It's called Weather Pro and it rocks (if meteorological data can ever rock). I can now look at little moving weather maps, see five day forecasts and bore people senseless in bus queues. Wow.

...was a day off waiting for the gas man

We've been having some work done in the street outside my house. The gas board are replacing all the old metal pipes with new plastic ones. They came in the house and cut the gas off and didn't reconnect it until gone 4pm. The result, an unexpected (if rather boring) day off work.

...was my first week anniversary

I've just realised I've been blogging every day for a week! I'm not normally good at sticking with things so I'm quite proud. Let's see if I can do another week!

...was 150 year old graffiti

I've been climbing today for the first time in years at the Cow and Calf in Ilkley. The rocks there are covered in engravings, mostly of young couples in love. The older the graffiti the more elaborate the carvings were. The more 'modern' graffiti was done with spray paint. I guess vandals just don't have the skills they used to have.

...was a long hot bath

I woke up this morning with a really stiff neck so I took a long, hot bath to try and ease the muscles. I love baths and can't remember the last time I had one.

...was the best ramp EVER!

I think I'm probably one of the last people in the world to see this video but it made me laugh out loud - what I can't believe is that some people actually thought it might be real!

...was a great typo on a web site

Spotted this while booking a holiday - made me think twice about making my reservation. At least I hope it's a typo!!!

...was a contradictory clothing label.

I saw this label in a shirt today and smiled at the thought of a slim fit shirt on an extra large man.

...was nibbling on some honey roast ham

Managed to liberate a few slices of honey roast ham from my parents house on Sunday.
I snuck a few slices out of the fridge at lunch. Yum.

...was having the idea for this blog

Just lately I've been thinking of ideas for a simple blog that I can try and do every day.
When I thought about a blog containing things that had made me smile each day...
...well, I smiled.
So here's the first post of the new blog.
